Building to a Strong Snatch: Update on Overhead Squat    

In my last post I wrote about my desire and struggle to learn the snatch; the most technical and challenging of the Olympic lifts.  To move toward my goal of building a strong snatch I decided I needed to begin with improving my ability to overhead squat under load.  To accomplish this, I followed a 4-week Wendler Strength cycle focused specifically on the overhead squat in addition to my regular box programming.  After completing this, I re-tested by 1 rep max which increased by 10 lbs. going from 65 to 75 lbs.!
